WWK Lebensversicherung a. G. – the WWK Metaverse

Sometimes innovation needs a whole metaverse.

At the WWK Akademie in Raubling, WWK Lebensversicherung a. G. deliberately leaves the projector switched off. Instead of clicking through slides, people put on a headset and step into the WWK Metaverse – built on RAUM.

Onboarding, apprenticeship programmes and further education run inside it. Information is no longer projected onto a wall but walked around, looked at from every angle and worked on together in three dimensions – exactly where classic media reach their limits. WWK’s own summary after onboarding, training and education formats: consistently strong experience, plus the “wow” that is regularly audible in the room.

Pierre Kretschmer, Senior Specialist Digital Marketing and Extended Reality at WWK, is on site whenever the portal to the metaverse opens in Raubling – and he is not alone. Around the WWK Metaverse there is a community of practitioners from insurance, research and the public sector who use it as a place to meet, not just as a demo.

The programme is recognised well beyond the company: WWK received the InnoWard 2025 education award from the German insurance industry’s vocational training body and the Innovationspreis der Assekuranz 2025/26 for its employer branding – with Ausbildung@Metaverse, XR moved from pilot project to everyday training.

See it for yourself: wwk.de/metaverse and the full story on WWK collectiv. The original impression from Raubling is Pierre Kretschmer’s post on LinkedIn.
